More Night Shift Fitness

Our Pharmacy is down in the basement. I usually take the stairs when I'm going down to pick up meds for a patient, but I just didn't feel like it tonight. As I was waiting for the elevator to come down from the 3rd floor, a 50-ish gentleman walked past me and opened the door to the stairwell.

I glanced up at him and realized that I was waiting for the elevator while a man with one leg, on crutches, just went up the stairs.

I took my fat ass down the stairs.

I totally hear you! When I was participating in a "medically supervised diet program" I would always take the stairs up and down and I tried to encourage all the other patients to walk with me. Almost none of them did!

And they wondered why *I* lost 85 pounds (and have kept it off) and they actually gained weight.... Hmmm...let me think about that. :)

I have this mental image of bespeckled, evil pharmacists in the basement of a hospital, cackling gleefully while they concoct evil meds that nurses will blindly pass. . .

oh, wait. That's my hospital. I'm sure your pharmacists are perfectly nice, and sane. . .

Waited with three people for elevator and they said lets take the stairs--I was gonna protest, but I really didn't have a leg to stand on.

Amazing what people do and overcome with what WE perceive as Handicaps--and they perceive them as life and opportunity to overcome!!
