The Body Bag
In the past, we have been known to place a body bag on the bed with a sheet over it when a code with a long down time is coming in. It facilitates movement of said body to the morgue.
In the last few months, every time we place a body bag on the bed, the patient gets pulses and a pressure back.
They can be asystolic for 30 minutes when we move 'em over, but by god, the body bag brings 'em back.
I think we should incorporate this into our ACLS protocols.

PS: I've made "Not dead yet!" and "I'm getting better!" jokes twice in the last week. Once, one person got them. It's a travesty. Monty Python should be required viewing during ER orientation.

How can you work in a place full of people who don't get Monty Pythom jokes? I would go insane. I make them with my students all the time- only about half of them get it now, and its scary.
hmmm, time to find myself some Monty Python to watch.
See!!! I read this and read your meme and I told you!!!
You only pretend not to care!!!
Gotcha, bizzle-nitch.
U_know_who
PS I really don't care
Really...it's just a flesh wound...
i don't know MG, monty python was cutting edge thirty years ago and ground-breaking. it may just be that it's now de rigeur to have been a fan and now think they are passe. that's how shit rolls. and really, anonymous, if the best you can do for a quote is their most quoted quote we must doubt your fanship!
"... on second thought, let's not go to camelot... it is a silly place."
"The parrot's not dead...it's only sleeping."
I love Monty Python. It's so good for rehab morale, especially the Knights of Nie (with the clip-clap sound).
For those who don't get it, it's a shame!
"Help, Help, I'm being repressed!"
Holy Grail and Pulp Fiction. The two bestest movies ever for watching over and over and over, and then quoting for no particular reason.
"If my answers frighten you then you should cease asking scary questions."
It's a shame people don't get MP.
When I make a remark and people don't laugh, I taunt them. And then I tell them to go away, or I will taunt them a second time.
I did a post a while back called "I'm Not Quite Dead Yet!!" With pics and everything...
It's way sad. I agree. Maybe a revival will come; I just read about a musical that's all the rage called "Monty Python's Spamalot." I'll be going to see that when it comes my way!
"Come back here and I'll.... bite your legs off!"
"E's not dead, e's just sleepin'!"
"....Bring out yer dead!"
I make those "not dead yet" jokes pretty much daily. I haven't seen that movie in way too long. Time to break it out and lmao.
Don't get me started!
He's shrugged off the mortal coil!
He's left all his worldly problems behind!
He's gone up the curtain and joined the choir invisible!
This is a dead parrot!
He's F$&King snuffed it!
One of the few I can't quote...
I need to rent it.
Or something.
He's not quite dead. But can you hang around a minute? He won't be long.
She turned me into newt..... well I got better.
It's only a flesh wound.
I fart in your general direction!
Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of ELDERBERRIES!
oh dirty, naugty zoot! lighting the grail shaped beacon again!!! i am soo sorry good sir knight, you must spank us (and me! and me!) and after the spanking, the oral sex!!
My dad got a kick out of wearing his "I'm not dead yet" t-shirt while getting his chemotherapy.
I think all people should be required to watch Monty Python.
"Well, I'll ask him, but I don't think he'll be very keen...he's already got one, it's verry nice-uh."
Or, for our next MO patient...the whole wafer-thin mint thing. Better get a bucket...
I have cool son (he's 21): He has the entire series on DVD, and he lets me watch it sometimes.
