I killed it.

The Reciprocal Blogroll is dead.

It was just too huge of a monster to keep feeding. It kept getting bigger, and bigger, and then I'd find blogs that I had neglected to add, and then I'd find blogs that had disappeared without my noticing, and I just don't have time to read that many blogs anymore, and it just was making me crazy.

So I killed it.

I'm sorry.

I don't know who started the whole "reciprocal blogroll" thing to start with, but I'm of the mind that it perpetuates the "common blog ownership" myth that drives so many out of the public view. Your blogroll is your blogroll. Your blog, your choice. There's no way you can accommodate everybody and you shouldn't have to apologize for it.

I did that for a while, but found it to be far too hard to keep up with and irritating. Since you killed me with it, though...

Just kidding - I'm not vindictive like some people who cut you off if you're taken off their roll.

Incidentally, I'm looking for a replacement CRAYZEE CENTRAL mascot. It would be ironic if you were the next one, eh?

Given what I am sure is the number of links that must have grown to I suspect it’s a wise policy….

Personally I always tried to keep the reciprocal blogroll thing to a minimum. I tend to limit myself to listing the blogs I actually enjoy reading.

The reciprocal links while nice was never really a requirement for me. Guess I need some net etiquette sensitivity training
