I have great aspirations- I want to be an "ACTOR" or Thespian- at least until I was told to be a thespian...i think that was the word- I had to cut my hair and act all butch like a man. Hell I am a man!@
I must admit- I've never aspired to have pneumonia, although I think I will now go heavily and deeply inhale the hose pipe of one of those Honey Dipper trucks. You know the septic tank ones.....maybe I'll at least get ASS pergillis!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it's easier for the seniors not to inhale their own gunk, but nursing homes don't have enough personnel to take care of the number of patients they admit. My big brother died of aspitation pneumonia in October, but I guess something has to kill us. Anything was preferable to living in that nursing home --- even dying in Hospice.
I really meant aspiration, but I kinda liked aspitation. A whole new word for my vocabulary.
Hm. My ex-husband's philosophy.
They just don't get that you have to keep people elevated to 45 degrees or greater while eating or swallowing pills even if you only think they have a teeny bit of risk. Plus, you have to keep them there for a while when they're done doing all of this.
Oh, you also have to watch them while you give them the pills, water, etc.
And if you suspect anything, you need to call that doc and get orders for thickened liquids or something else.
Aspiration pneumonia is just so sad. Even if you watch people closely, they can still get it. Horrible, horrible, horrible way to go.
