It still does not beat Famellie spelled female. The mom said the hospital named her.
Zsa Zsa and Velazquez. And she couldn't decide. I grew up with a girl called Ampersand. Her mom thought it sounded pretty.
Heard a call across a fairground once that sounded like Malicia, apparently a form of Melissa but with an Addams family twist.
So how is it pronounced?
I pity her teachers doing roll call on the first day of school.
"Zha-key... uh.. Shah-quay... uh... Zha-kayz... uh..."

It's probably intended to be "Jacques", the French "Jack" (as in Jacques-Yves Cousteau).
I went to school with twin girls - Felicia and Panilla Wafer.
Now what kind of black woman names her child Panilla Wafer? That's just cruel.
My favorite name of all time was "Duarte." It's not particularly amusing, but it is a lot of fun to say...Duarte Duarte Duarte!
The saddest name ever was when some imbecile in L&D named their child "Special K Cocaine (surname)." I personally think that should be grounds to be taken out and shot, but then I am merely a quiet voice among the din.
Poor kid.........

By far, the most bizarre and cruel name I've ever seen is "Shithead" pronounced "sha thed" ...(long e)

We used to have a blast in the newborn nursery figuring out how some names were to be pronounced. My favorite story, though, is the woman who told us how she created her baby's name..."I cut up a bunch of letters, threw them into the air, and made a name out of how they fell." For the life of me I can't remember how the name was spelled or how she pronounced it though. :(
