Ah, the Good Old Days
I paid $2.93/gallon for gas yesterday, and I didn't even blink. Until I thought about it. When I was in high school, I paid a buck a gallon and that was way too much. Now I'm complacently paying 3 bucks a gallon. And I'm so glad that I don't live here anymore....

I'm envious. Here in Denver, we had gas go from $3.27 a gallon to about $3.19 and within a few cents. I remember when gas was $.89! Man, does saying that make me feel old! :-p
Believe it or not you've got it easy. We pay $1.01 per liter at the moment, which would translate to $3.82 per gallon!
Over this last month we saw $3.45 a gallon! Seattle has too many liberals I guess so they keep our gas prices high as punishment!
I remember $.69 gas. I remember cussing the first time it went over $1.00. I didn't take a job because the commute meant I would be paying $1.17 a gallon, and I just couldn't afford it.
Now I don't have much choice. My kids need their therapy, and the nearest one is 30 minutes down teh road, like it or not. When those talking heads chirrup about making gas MORE money so people will stop driving so much, I see red. What about those of us who have no choice?
Y'all can thank your lucky stars you don't live where I do. We pay 6 Israeli shekels--or $1.50--per LITER, which works out to well in excess of $6 per gallon...
We are paying $1.30/L in Australia.. roughly US$4.30/gallon. Fuel prices are crazy these days!
