Damn memes

OK, so I just finished saying that I wouldn't play again after the last one, and I get tagged by 911DOC over at M.D.O.D. (which I'm pretty sure means Mad Doctor Of Death, since he's already threatened to kill me once, and he even had a plan, which means a 72-hour hold, right?)

So, because he scares me, and because I found a cool new meme on CrankyProf's Blog, I will play one more time. I will not, however, send this to 8 people in 8 minutes. So if bad luck befalls me, I blame 911DOC.

Rules:
1. Go to Wikipedia and put in your birthday, without the year, in the search bar.
2. List on your blog 3 events, 2 births, 1 death and 1 holiday that happens(ed) on your birthday.

3 Events:
1582- Due to the implementation of the Gregorian calendar this day does not exist in this year in Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain. (Sweet! It's almost like being born on February 29th!)

1919 - Black Sox scandal: The Cincinnati Reds "win" the World Series. ("Say it ain't so, Joe!")

2006- North Korea allegedly tests its first nuclear device. (Kim Jong Il in Team America:World Police was the funniest thing I've ever seen.)

2 Births:
1873 - Charles Walgreen, American entrepreneur (d. 1939) (Happy Birthday from drug seekers all over the world....)

1940 - John Lennon, British musician and songwriter (The Beatles) (d. 1980) (Insert any inappropriate Yoko Ono joke here...)

1 Death:
1967 - Che Guevara, Argentine revolutionary and guerrilla leader (executed) (b. 1928)(Hmmm, I don't like the rules and my name is MonkeyGirl.... hmmmm......)

1 Holiday:
Leif Erikson Day- in United States, Iceland and Norway: celebrating the first European landing in North America (Not to be confused with Leif Garrett.)

OK, I've played nice twice. You can't expect me to play nice again. Well, unless I see another cool, new meme.....

My birthday is bad luck. It always has been. I've been to funerals, been stuck on trains, had my father show up (really, really not good), and had family members die. It is so bad, we ward off the bad luck every year.

Once, on my birthday, my Dad showed up just as my Mom had showed up to take me to lunch. It was very bad, and we were wandering around downtown trying to pretend it wasn't. We had wandered aimlessly into a little toy shop, and there was a kid running all over the store wanting things for Christmas. The mother turned ot the child and said, "Santa's sack is all full, dear; you'll have to ask the Birthday Bird for that."

I turned to my mom and said, "Me and this 'Birthday Bird' have GOT to have a talk."

Ever ince then, to ward off bad luck (and the dreaded Birthdya Bird), I have a large cement cat set on my porch and craft feathers scattered over my porch. Last year, it actually worked!

I can see how these meme things get tiring, but they are fun. As a matter of fact, I like this one so much, I may volunteer. But, it has to wait until my pharmacology final exam is over....

My birthday is Sept 26 and falls between Summer and Fall-type weather, so, literally I get the change-of-seasons febrile illness every year on my birthday. Like down to the day almost. I'll be perfectly great on Sept 25th and have a 102 fever on my birthday.

I missed the Birthday Febrile Illness this past year because I went to France earlier in Sept, which was colder than where I live, so, instead of getting sick on my birthday, I got the febrile illness in a hostel crammed in there with 5 other bodies.

it wasn't a threat, it was merely a musing as you would say. i think it might even make me sad if i did it.
