Well, not really...! The primary (actually only) use of guns is to kill. The primary use of gasoline is to drive cars (to get from point A to point B--say, from home to work). The primary use of fertilizer is to grow plants. The primary use of box cutters is, (d)uh, to cut boxes. Admittedly, it's hard to prevent secondary use of the above.
But you can't even argue that guns have a different primary use than...shooting people (or animals).
