Expiration Date

Yesterday was the 6 month anniversary of the day that our brand new shiny-floored hospital opened its doors.

Last night, major water leaks developed on three floors.

The back half of the ER nurses' station looks like a third world country disaster zone.

Looks like they shoulda bought the extended warranty.

MonkeyHusband says that's what happens when you low-bid a $200 million project. Perhaps they should have gone with the $201 million bid. Maybe they would have filled all the holes and plugged all the seams.

our new hospital expired before we could even move in ... a leaky coffee maker flooded 3 floors and delayed our move-in date by 6 weeks.

and we've also had leaky ceilings.

of course, i'm still wondering who forgot the neonatal ICU in the original plans ... supposedly that is the reason the two pediatric floors are separated by the psych patients.

anyway ...

I know a brand-new hospital that has dirty surgical blood leak through the ceiling into the ER's clean utility.

This is exactly why I feel such trepidation about the opening of our new ED (we're currently in Phase I of a $10 million renovation/expansion of our ED). I was present for the last remodel 12 years ago and it was a nightmare. I am just hoping it won't be deja vu.

They're not leaks, they're water features!

Gives new meaning to the term "float nurse"---grab a canoe and paddle on down to the ER....
