Chief Complaint of the Night
"I think I'm having a miscarriage or my ovary fell out."
Complete with show and tell in a baggie.
She left without being seen after waiting for an hour, so we'll never know if it really was her ovary.
The vast majority of the things I do on a daily basis merely require opposable thumbs. But the sarcasm..... now THAT'S a gift!

One dollar says it was her brain.
CAT
Did she hold on to the baggie in the waiting room, or did your triage person get to hold onto it? What's the normal procedure for show-and-tell patients? I'm sure you get people all the time wondering if something that has come from their body is important enough to get them back to be seen... But more importantly... did she take the baggie with her when she left?
I agree with cat. It probably was her brain.
I vote for tampon, but then again, I'm a bit cynical,
Too bad you couldn't confirm it was her ovary...her loss would be a benefit to the gene pool, for sure.
And if ovaries could actually fall out...eww. gross.
? Did she pass a gestational sac?
She took the time to put it in a bag and they made her wait an hour?? Oh, how rude! (insert sarcasm)
I had a young fellow come to my ER once in a panic because he coughed/vomitted up his "tonsil". Go figure. i suppose someone has to swim in the shallow end of the gene pool.
I usually tell the pt. to save the show and tell for the doc.
