Yay! It's Election Day!

Please excuse me whilst I go hide my guns and money. When I return, we can commence celebrating what an enlightened nation we have become that we can elect a President whose sole qualifications are "charisma" and "skin color".

(Alright, you got me. I really did have one political post in me.)

Pathetic.

You've put me off your blog.

Versus a VP candidate whose qualifications are... um... Tina Fey Glasses?

In the birthplace of liberty, the world's most relevant and celebrated democracy, the home of the most expansive freedoms known to modernity, we get two options to vote for someone who has a realistic shot at the Executive. Seriously? I felt like this election was the equivalent of a grand contest between two competing cell phones, a newer model with polished advertising and a promise to change the game, and an older model with a new faceplate and a few features we've all seen before. I might as well have written in "Hu Jintao" because with the debt we're accumulating, China's ownership stake in America will seem equivalent to the Presidency. I voted for Bob Barr, and not because I like being irrelevant. It's a shame that an easy smile and butter-smooth oration will win more votes than than the truth ever could.

Longtime reader, love the blog.

OH MY GOD, ANONYMOUS, DON'T GO! PLEASE COME BACK! I CAN'T STAND TO LOSE A READER WHO DOESN'T HAVE THE MENTAL CAPACITY TO MAKE UP A FAKE NAME! NOOOOOOOOOO! DON'T GO!!!! PLEASE DON'T TAKE ONE OF THE ANONYMI FROM ME! *sob* *sniff*

sara:
My other gripe about our great enlightened nation is that the presidential election has become nothing more than a choice between the lesser of two evils.

Unfortunately, the lesser of the two evils lost.

And the Tina Fey glasses weren't running for president. They were running for VP. Biden is as much of an idiot as she is.

Look at it this way, MG: we've got enough skills, guns and gumption in the various like-minded denizens of our blog rolls to form one Hell of a "Gault's Gulch"-style community.

Hurry up! The negroes are coming! They're gonna steal all your possessions!

The sky is falling!

Doesn't anyone see that now that we will be overrun by aborted fetuses illegally immigrating from Mexico in order to gay marry us in the name of Islam!?!

Hated the debate between the presidential candidate and the VP candidate - hey, Democrats! Palin wasn't running for president, McCain was! Whatever, we'll soon have "Don't blame me, I voted for the other guy" on our bumpers soon enough.

I respect John McCain a great deal. Before the campaigns really got going, I supported him as a presidential candidate. I'm aware that Palin was the VP candidate, but her addition to the ticket added a right-wing aspect that was hard to ignore. Biden's a windbag, but I don't see him as an extremist. I also see it as a "lesser of two evils" race- I don't see Obama as a bad guy, but I'm not sure how he'll act once in office.
This is a link to a Tribune column that kind of expresses how I feel.

What are your thoughts on the Michigan marijuana bill?

I agree with Anna. I have stockpiled all of my weapons. I am absolutely terrified that the coloreds will be coming to force me to have abortions. And the worst part is that all of my money is going to be taken away from me. ALL OF IT! We were so close. McCain was going to make us rich. How about we all move to Canada! Canada is a red state, right?

b/c you know they just took the statue of liberty down and put up an aunt jemima statue up with a chicken leg in her hand right? that and she refuses to pray!!!!

I have yet to work out what any politican stands for.
They say one thing, mean 20 others, take each others ideas and say the other person stole them.

Still it provides something for news media every few years. And conspiricy theorys every so often.

Agree about the lesser of 2 evils, except which is the greater evil with any modern politican?

And that's why I refuse to argue politics.

Because people are stoopid.

Just because I'm not liberal doesn't mean I'm conservative.

I really don't give a rat's ass who you pray to, and I can argue either side of the abortion or the gay marriage issue.

Come up with a decent argument that doesn't include race, and we'll talk. Until then, carry on with your retardedness.

PS: Sara- I think all marijuana should be legalized, not just for medical purposes. And no, I've never smoked a joint in my life.

Now THAT was funny.

Aren't cigarettes more harmful than maryjane anyway? Now THAT'S legislation I can get behind. I don't do either, think people that do are retarded and killing themselves. But I guess if we are going down that road, alcohol kills too, so we should make that illegal too. And soda too. It rots your teeth. And french fries.

Celery anyone?

Random tangent? I'll take two....

OMG monkey girl. All the intelligent people I know are on the internet. Are you real? I am cowering in my gun cellar with my bible to wait out the next 4 years. Damn.

David here. I think your post was a bit misleading and opened itself to some parody. I understand you do not like to "argue politics." Seriously, very understandable. However, but posting your political sentiments, you have opened up the floor and by expressing your opinions, you have, in essence, started a political argument. Tis the beauty of the Internet.

Anyhow, you slammed someone (I'm not sure if it was me or Anna, and personally, I am not offended) by stating, "Come up with a decent argument that doesn't include race, and we'll talk." The problem is that your original post specifically mentioned race when you referenced "charisma and SKIN COLOR."

Just wanted to point that out.

David, non-liberal/non-conservative.

David:

You are correct. Thank you for pointing it out.

I just typed out a 3 paragraph response before I realized that I don't argue politics.

And I'm very nearly arguing politics.

PS: all of the comments mocking me were quite funny, you know.
