A Query

On what planet is is acceptable to use the ambu-bags in all 5 cardiac/trauma rooms over the weekend and not re-stock any of them when the rooms become vacant?

Not this planet. The supply room is a loooooooong way from the coding guy in room 4. Forgetting one room is understandable. Forgetting all 5 is not.

When the planet had a population of 5, all of the ambubags were used and all of the population died, then it is considered acceptable. :-)

It is a good thing that nobody would ever bring a sick patient into the code rooms, otherwise they might need one of those ambubags.

Don't worry, you can probably get away with using a nasal cannula in the mean time - oxygen is overrated. :-)

I get it...someone might CODE in a code room.

Imagine needing an ambu bag...and they always make fun of me when I open the bag with the ambu bag on the crash cart every day I check it.

I ain't waitin' to find out there's not one in there when we need it!

Nothing beat the night i had to run to another floor because we had no ambu bags, only to have the manager take us on a tour the next day to say "see, they were right there the whole time...under the waffle mattress folded up and dropped in the bottom of a closet, up on the dusty shelf full of stuff that hasn't been used since the late 19th century, anywhere but where they could be found in an emergency. So what was the problem?"

So. Angry.

I Freakin' HATE that! One of my major pet peeves is not replacing things. I always seem to follow a therapist who never leaves a spare vent in ICU or ER. I secretly plot his demise.

Tube him.

Speeds up the demise if nobody bags him until the vent is there. Just a little sux between therapists. :-)
